1. Overview

VaultChat ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you organize AI conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini into folders. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension handles and how it is stored.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

VaultChat does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email address, account credentials)
• Conversation content from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini
• Browsing history or usage analytics
• Device identifiers or IP addresses
• Any form of telemetry or crash reports

3. Local Data Storage

VaultChat stores your folder names, folder settings (color, order), and conversation metadata (titles and URLs detected from AI platform pages) using the Chrome browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API.

• All data is stored locally on your device only.
• Data is never synced to any external server, cloud service, or third party.
• Data is never shared with the developer or any other party.
• You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome (chrome://extensions) or by clearing your browser storage.

4. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following browser permissions:

• storage — Required to save your folders and conversation list locally in chrome.storage.local. No data leaves your device.
• sidePanel — Required to display the VaultChat side panel inside your browser window.
• Host permissions (chatgpt.com, claude.ai, gemini.google.com) — Required to detect when you open a new AI conversation so it can be automatically tracked. The Extension reads page titles and URLs from these sites only. It does not read, access, or transmit the content of your conversations.

5. Third-Party Services

VaultChat does not integrate with, connect to, or communicate with any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms. The Extension operates entirely within your browser with no network requests of its own.

6. Children's Privacy

VaultChat does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, this Extension is safe for use by anyone.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes in a future version of VaultChat, the updated policy will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
